The Pilot
The WISP 2 is designed for adventurous pilots seeking the lightest and most compact tandem glider. Designed for hiking and climbing ascents, the Wisp 2 is light enouh to access new tandem launches and capable enough to fly real XC.
The Tech
The WISP 2 benefits from more than 20 years of lightweight paraglider design and contains the latest design and materials tech that has made the Ultralite series one of the best selling paragliders in our range and in the world. Its carefully considered cell count, 3D shaping and refined panel shaping, and optimised line layout have yielded an easy to use and high tech tandem that is a joy to fly.
The addition of winglets improves roll stability while allowing an enhanced arc for excellent handling and benign side collapse behaviour.
Certification
The WISP 2 is certified EN-B across its very wide weight range. This allows pilots of all weights and sizes to enjoy flying tandem together, whether you’re traveling ultra-light or carrying extensive climbing or vol-biv equipment.
In Flight
Launching in tight spots in less than ideal conditions is made easier by straight forward inflation and launch characteristics. The wing inflates easily in nil wind conditions, without overshooting in stronger wind. The take-off roll, or the amount of running distance needed, is exceptionally short for a wing of this size.
In the air the wing is a solid platform with excellent structural stability to cope with demanding turbulence. The solid and compact nature of the wing is complimented by fun and direct handling — the brakes are precise with a linear roll response to inputs and a tight turning radius. This agility makes it a fun wing to fly whether you’re climbing in XC thermals, or simply descending in smooth air.
Landing is simple with good flare authority. The trimmer system should be set to the fully “in” (slow) position for best take-off efficiency and flare in normal conditions.
